On 23rd September 2015 the Award Ceremony of the participants from seven countries in the Third International Competition "Karst under protection - gift for the generations" was held, organized by the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography at the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and supported by UNESCO. The participation of 137 High School Angel Kanchev was started by Senior English teacher Ms Reneta Valkova in 2012. This year the school participated in the competition in the following categories: Children up to 12 years; Children over 12 years and Individual Pupil Project (for teachers). The project conference was held together with the Award Ceremony and the winning works exhibition will take place in the Natural History Museum until 11th October 2015. The presentation titled "Our ProKARSTerra Challenge" for the participation of the team from the 137 High School was presented on the second day of the conference by Senior English teacher Reneta Valkova in front of representatives of seven countries. A view of their participation and the prize, a trip through the karst regions of North Bulgaria, was presented by the first prize winners Simona Hokinova and Manol Mutlyashki at the National Institute of Geophysics, Geodesy and Geography of Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.

The team of teachers Victoria Karanlakova, Monika Mihaylova, Reneta Valkova, Nora Topalova and Plamen Mitev provided the preparation, implementation and finalization of the project. It was performed in two successive stages: school research expedition and development of products.
The competition involved 14 teams from 8 countries: Bulgaria, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Japan, Montenegro, Russia, Germany and Poland.
Our educational project "ProKARSTerra"-explorers, which was a research expedition school for complex study of karst objects in Bulgaria, performed through interdisciplinary integral participation, was awarded Second Prize.
Nine-member jury of karstology, artists and educators from Japan, Czech Republic, Poland and Bulgaria awarded the 49 prizes, whereas Secondary School 137 "Angel Kanchev"-Sofia received 6 of them.
